Test tables to be at Hall of Fame Classic
« on: February 19, 2008, 07:21:28 PM »
I made samples of a man with chamfer front edges instead of the current round edges and they have been well recieved by Dave Courington.  Dave has sent samples to top players for their review.  There will be 2 test tables at the Hall Of Fame Classic in Las Vegas for players to test and give comments.  The goal is to increase the varity of viable shots at the Top levels of play.  I need Todd Loffredo to get in touch with me so I may send him the latest version to test before Vegas.  Also, Tornado has addressed the "Big Bumper" issue by modifing the bearing face.  There are other exciting changes, one is to remove the mold seam on the side to improve Tic-Tacing and the other to eliminate the side strips that hamper bank shots.  Here are some photos:  Email me at edgeer  @  msn.com if you have any questions or comments.

The one on bottom is original, the one on top has been milled with a 45 degree chamfer.

Here is the prototype of the latest version.  The extra courses are added to increase the size of the sweet spot.

Thanks Jim for the correction. I learned the wood trade from a old cowboy cooper, hell he probably was saying chamfer.  I never took the time to look it up in a dictionary.  ::)

Ed,

very exciting...could you provide some better pictures or post them someplace we can get the resolution...old verses new from a number of angles as large/close as you can?

anyway, good luck

oh, by the way, the side-strip was put there so a ball would not get trapped on the side...now I don't think it is an issue but has that been tested too?  I know Mark Murrell got real good bank results by just using a thinner strip...now, again, I think it will be okay and I think it would be nice to have all the wall react the same way...as fast as the ball comes off the back wall, can you imagine the kind of speed a bank would have

no strip would make converting old tables easier

what change on the bearing face?

I am traveling for the next week but will try to get better pics when I return.  When I get home I will quote Daves letter.  From what I understand there will still be a raised edge, but it will be under the plastic.

As far as the bearings, The samples I recieved had the face milled about 1/32".

weve sell a good time novelty table where i work and we play on that thing everyday...single goalie, ramped corners, but no side strip....definately banks are always open but the ball does get stuck on the wall and can be a bitch to get off...
