Who would have thought something like this was ever going to happen? The two Foosball titans Frédéric Collignon and Billy Pappas must have felt quite sure that they would easily win the title when they teamed up for open doubles at the 2008 P4P European Championships that are taking place right now in a small town near Stuttgart, Germany. The two top players, as well as most of the spectators, were surely surprised to suddenly find themselves in the losers bracket. They lost their match 1-3 against German pros Frank Brauns and Robert Stein.

Papz and Rico can, of course, still win the open doubles title, but another pro watching the match was reported saying. "If Frank will play the final as good as he just did, he and Robert will easily defeat Fred and Billy again."

P4P European Championship update:

As expected, the two teams Pappas/Collignon and Brauns/Stein met again in the open doubles finals. There was no surprise this time: Billy and Fred won 4:1.
