In the World Cup, they didn't play past the quarterfinals against France (winning their match)... With the team's great performance in singles in the semi and final, they didn't need to play.

World Championships was a 1st-round loss to Dominic Auger and Julien Beaumier-Ethier of Canada

Can't you stop this conspiracy talk now that the US team has won? I don't mean you personally, Tuna, but there have been so many paranoid comments about the table change that it starts getting annoying. They were showing this on television in Europe, hoping to reach a big audience. As I pointed out, the guys in charge must have been thinking they couldn't show people Table Soccer with 3 goalies. If you think that's stupid, I'm with you. But it doesn't have anything to do with cheating or anti-Americanism.

The first time I met Farid was at the Tornado Worlds in 1999. He told me of his organization and proclaimed that the Tornado World Champion was not the true champion because they would have to beat the Bonzini champion on his table.  His point was that a true champion could not be crowned unless they won on all the tables in a multi-table tournament.  That thought of a multi-table champion interest me, so I decided to help the USTSF get organized.

Then things changed, the ITSF became this powermunger dictatorship.   The ITSF under Farid's direction lost sight of the original pure mission and began to demand changes from the manufactures.  If a manufacture would not or could not deliver they were threaten with expulsion.  When Jupiter and Eurosoccer could not meet Farid's demands they were banished and lost their investment in promoting the ITSF.  Now with the changes made to Bonzini, Roberto sport, Tecball, Tornado and the others the tables have lost their unique qualities that defined each table’s individual game.  Now the ITSF's demands are in the name of "consistent playing characteristics".  So you may ask yourself why-not just have one official recognized table?  Well guess what Farid and Massimo are planning on just that Mr. Bodygrove.

Ask your beloved Klaus if you don’t believe me.

it isn't anti-american per se, it is Friad is anti-anyoneElseNotDoingItMyWay

it was cheating because Friad didn't follow the rules on his own organization to make the change AND he threatened the current 8 person ITSF executive board (of which Larry Davis is a memeber) that if they didn't vote his way he would replace them with new board memebers who where with his vision

Not wanting to sound like a broken record but I still like my idea of a table where you drop in the bar of your own perferred design. Hey, it's one way to keep everyone happy.  A table that is built to certain specifications and a standard ball. Then you customize your own bar and man set-up, handle also. What bar and men would you use?

I'm glad you've mentioned all that, because it corroborates what I said: It's not about anti-Americanism at all. I'm not even saying Farid is pro-American (he surely isn't), but he wouldn't show his resentments openly, I guess.

By the way, I find the idea of having something like a "world standard table" deeply disturbing.

What's that supposed to mean? Are you so shallow that you want to judge me on the basis of something I wrote to bring a little life to a discussion on the internet??? I hope you're not.

That's all I've been trying to say, thanks!
