What do you all think?

I'm tempted to say no... seems to me the prize money was bigger back then... I mean they played for new cars!  :o

In the 70's we had more tournaments with higher pay outs. :o That includes prizes and cash!
Here in Tulsa we had tables in just about every bar, pool hall and even had several foosball only places
(5 at one point: 1 Dynamo, 1 American and 3 Tornado). High dollar contests every two weeks were the
usual ($1000 or so) and semi-major tournaments every month in the local states (Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri).
Tournament Soccer paid the highest, Tornado was next with Dynamo third. Around here most played Tornado,
only a few of us played Tournament Soccer since there were only 4 tables in Tulsa business'. But, there
would be several of us at the TS tournaments trying to get a share of the prizes. In 1977 I filed my 1976
TAXES with IRS showing $40,000 ;D in winnings and that was with only 2 major tournaments! On a side note
the people don't seem as frendly today to strangers as we were. I started playing again in a couple of tournaments
this last year and the people here aren't as friendly.  :(

Sorry 3 MAJOR tournaments, TS $1,000,000 AND $500,000 Tornado $250,000 + about 25 lessor tournaments
with anywhere from $25,000 down to $1,000.  :)
