Who would survive a SuperSingles Round Robin, Horton, Rico ... ?
« on: September 13, 2009, 01:09:15 AM »
So who do you think?

WashedUpPoleBastard really worships the Horton, while BBTuna does so for Rico.... but... but...

If an event had a big-money single round-robin final for the following 10 singles players, who would win out?  Get 9 wins, perhaps the top two in a 2nd match.

Billy Pappas - reigning Tornado World Singles Champion
Rico Collignon - lost to Billy
Tommy Adkisson - multiple Worlds and Majors titles
Tony Spredeman - needs no intro
Tracy McMillin - at legend level now.. Tornado 06 08, World Cup, etc..
Todd Loffredo - iron man legendary player 3 decades +
Rob Atha - baddest Brit Tornado and World Championship player.
Rob Mares - super multiple World and Majors titles like his bud, Tommy
Johnny Horton - u know it
Terry Moore - dominated after bringing the rollover as we know it to US Master foosball

WashedUpPoleB will prolly insist that Horton would take out this field with no problems, using his 2001 title as a measuring stick.  Now I'm from SoFlo, so I could never root against Johnny, but would I put my money on him?  Dunno... I'd have to ask hard hard questions from his close friend and partner, Officer Steve Beine, and Brendan SirFlair ...  BBT's fave Rico?  I would say he has a slightly better chance to win out, due to being an era younger than Johnny.  But I'd really have to put my money on Billy or Spree or Tommy first... to win out and possibly win 9 matches, against 9 of the World's best.  I prolly left some out, but this top 10 roundrobin would pretty much slam the door on most arguments.

Perhaps Brendan or Valley(Masters tour) could put up some money for such a showdown...

Spree has no 2 bar shot from goal?? Thats just simply disrespectful, The fact of the matter is Horton would struggle to retain any ball control due to Tony's unique style of play. FYI Tony does have a blazing push from goal if you have never seen it. And who needs that when you are as high percentage 2-5 as he is...The question is how good is Horton's rollover defense against Spree's dominant roller?? I say NOT.

That 2-5 was WEAK enough to put rico away at worlds, need i say more?? On top of having the best 5 row in the business Tony is a stellar person ALL the way around.. he doesn't have to smack talk he just brings it to the table....I am sure i am not the only one that thinks that.

Why do you have to bring Dube into this? He has MANY more friends/admirers on this board than you or horton have. What an ass you are being (at least on this forum), and nutsack-hanger to boot. Why don't you take this nonsense to foosballboard? Oh yeah, they've already heard this c-r-a-p and derisively booed it off the stage into its own little forum where it died a LONELY death. If you really wanted a money match against fred or tony, why don't you just show up and challenge them on the spot with what is in YOUR wallet? Or even better, play Chris Dube and get owned in that one as well! I'll bet you don't have the balls to walk up to him and talk this *** to him, let alone back it up on the table.

I truly respect Johnny's game, but not when he trash-talks. Watching his intensity when he plays is a lesson in focus that lesser players should all take note of. But poor sportsmanship is what ran Johnny out of the game, not rusty or declining skills. He stepped on his own dick at the peak of his game and pays for it now with virtually no relevance to the top players in this game today. That is the true lesson to take from Johnny's story. He should be spending the rest of his life trying to make up for all the bad things he has said and done to his FRIENDS, people like Beine and Flaherty and countless others, and try to be a positive force in this game instead of just whining about all the lost opportunities that he has only himself to blame for.

There was a much hated bar hack in my area in the days transitioning from TS to Tornado that didn't just smack talk, he actually tried to intimidate people physically when he felt threatened with a loss. He hated it when the rollover took hold and someone would school his defense on it. He'd say "Oh yeah, score another one of your 'girly' shots, ***!"

Funny how he couldn't block one to save his life even from a beginner, and no one would help him learn how to, because he was such an ass...

I'm sick of this bull-***!

Just shut up about Spree!

He never beat Horton for any title either so there!

You can't compare "limp-wrist" slappy happy Gilmore to a

"LEGEND" like "RICK FLAIR"  WwwwwHhhhhOooooo!!!!!!

"you wanna be the man
you gotta play the man
you can't be the man
til
 you beat the man".

WwwwwHhhhhhhOoooooooooo!!!!!!!!
You wanna' walk that isle?

This game needs Horton, its dead.

Besides, how can you say that you are the best in the world when the best in the world was not there in Dallas?

You can't!

"Besides, if 50 Police Officers were to come down to the pits in St. Louis, MO. to watch Horton beat Spree in the finals, that would be great for the game"!!!!
       Ha! Hey!
                   ---Sir. Flaherty quote.

Have a great day!
Thanks,
Bob C.   "bad-boys, bad-boys... watcha' gonna' do...when they come for Spreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'

Never beat him for a title? Could that be because Johnny never makes it to the finals? Tony has been a fixture in the finals for years now!

Oh, and in case you are one of the .01% of people in the world that doesn't know this, professional wrestling is just entertainment and Ric Flair was just one of many (talented? lol) actors on that stage, lol.

I find it a little sad in that johnny still hasn't won a title on the warrior table  (a very good table imo that was custom made for a pull shooters' skills) ... and I'd love nothing better than to see him show that he can still play his game--without yakking and posturing like a rooster. He'd have a lot to teach today's up-n-coming players if he just wouldn't let his ego get in the way. So anyone that wants to learn how to develop your pull into first class caliber, watch johnny's past title performances--but turn the volume to zero...

When Spree has got it cooking nobody can begin to stay with him. His synapses seem to fire twice to the normal man's one. And if that normal man has burnt a bunch of those synapses how could he begin to stay with Spree? He can't!

I just really can't believe someone would talk Tony Spredeman down like this...Shut up about Spree? NO WAY. The guy has class and talent unlike yourself. This will be my last post on this subject, I will drive to St. Louis any weekday or weekend to watch that ass kickin' match. And bet my life savings on Tony. He is COMPOSED and LEVEL HEADED and thats all it would take to put Johnny out is ONE smart ass remark about the gay wrist slap that he will only see smoke from the ball going in the goal...

okay, children, don't feed the monster...if this isn't horton it is his clone or serious wannabe...this stuff is just to get a rise out of you, don't get suckered into this...this is our board and we are not going to let a 2 bit word hustler cause us any heart ache...this is just old fashioned mind games team

if you come into our house, you play by OUR rules, we say when smack talk is approved and little Bob C Horton is just a blow hard who can't tell real talent and is just strokin his insecurities

he throws names around like he is somebody and like he knows something but he is just a hanger-oner hoping to capture some real glory - some how he gets a kick out of stiring you all up and bashing players he could never beat

Spree could give him a 4 point spot race to 5 and beat him and "Horton hears a Who" 9 out of 10 times

Tommy A could beat him shooting with his eyes closed... literally

and police wouldn't even let him in the same room with Billy, it would be like sending a two year old into the cage with Brook Lesner
