Help with Purchasing Table
« on: August 11, 2011, 07:42:01 PM »
Hey guys,

Looking to get back into the game and searching for tables. Played a bunch in college but haven't played since.  I am in the SoCal area and have been searching around. Found a Whirlwind for $250 but missing 8 men.... not thinking its a good deal.

I ran acros this as well

Coin-op but the "Blonde" as some have referred to it. Just seeing if you think its a fair deal. Any advice on where to look in the area would be appreciated as well.

Thanks.

Also found this as well

Looks like it may be the same set up as the first one I listed.

Looking forward to the help.

Like women...it's hard to choose between 2 beautiful blondes.  I don't think you can go wrong with either...

if you can get good close up pictures or see them you could get a better read on which one to go after...600 is an okay starting price...offer them 475 and hope to end up between 500-550...read this link so you know what to look for...if either has bent rods or bad men you can use the need to replace them as part of your negociation..DO NOT BUY A WHILEWIND OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN A COIN OP....you have a lead on 2 and you should be able to get them down in price

i hear coin ops sell for more in CA and are hard to find so move quick but don't let that make you weak in your negociations...good luck and let us know how it comes out

I like how the one is covered in plastic wrap.  Hopefully, it's for protection and not to hide something.  The one in Irving has mixed men on the yellow 3 row.  No big deal.  Just get a new yellow one and have a black spare.  What's more important is the playing surface.  Both look pretty good in the pictures.

The one in Irvine has minor chipping around one of the goals.  He was very up front with it and was not trying to hide anything when I contacted him a couple of weeks ago.

Goal chipping or warped playing surface is a deal breaker for me...get the one from Ventura and let us know how it goes.
