New Member, new table - question on grips
« on: December 16, 2013, 01:01:49 PM »
Hello all, just picked up a Tornado Classic for all my kids for Christmas.  I used to play a bit 20 years ago and we actually have the new table set up a week early and have been having a blast.  My 11 year old twins are learning shots and strategy very quickly, am amazed how fast they are picking things up and I am slowly getting a bit of my game back.

In any case the wooden grips on this table are a bit hard on the hands and in my opinion do not offer the best grip.  I have seen the grip wraps but I was curious also about the rubber covers.

The question is what are my choices for covering or even replacing the wood grips on my table?  I didn't see any replacement grips, just grip covers.

Give me some feedback and look forward to reading and learning on the forum.

thanks in advance for the help.

It just boils down to personal preference. 90% of serious players used tennis-style wraps, but I have seen rubbers like those you posted, I have seen balloons, I have even heard of someone using condoms. I would suggest ordering a few different types and seeing what works best for you. You can also replace the old wooden tornado handles w/ the newer plastic versions.

Newer Tornado tables use plastic not wooden grips. You could always try those.
