T-3000 for $1000
« on: February 02, 2014, 09:16:57 AM »
Ok guys, back again, I have the opportunity to pick up a T-3000 Coin Op for $1000. Apparently it has seen very little use and is in fantastic shape. Unfortunately I will not be able to take a look at the table in person before buying. But the seller seems very straightforward and honest. My only concern is if it is one of those T2000's that might looks like a 3000 or an early 3000 with the warped surface etc. The seller mentioned it has the clear side strips, which to me means it was made after all the goofy stuff with tornado was happening. Are there any other things I should ask or look into? Apparently everything works coin op functions fine and all the rods are straight, goal corners are not chipped out. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Wow! Where'd you find such a good deal? I'm more of a fan of the marble look, but I've heard nothing but good things about the 3000s.

I have been scouring and scouring craigslist and kijiji for a good while now. Hopefully it gets delivered safely. Without any Wierd issues.

Not trying to be negative ned but I would have been hesitant to pay that kind of money sight unseen. There was a year, early T-3000s, when some of the playing surfaces were warped. Hope its not one of those. Good luck

Well from what the seller told me the table is ~2 years old. The table has the clear side strips and the black and yellow plastic handles. I am not sure if that helps dictate what year it is or not.

If it is 2 years old you are probably ok. Still some hesitation about paying a grand sight unseen. But thats just me.

Yea I hear ya, but unfortunately the foosball market in Manitoba is literally next to nil. Can not seem to find any quality stuff locally.

Hey guys! Took delivery of my new T3000 Coin op!! It is very nice. I took a good amount of time when I received it to disassembled all the parts and bearings and clean everything up real nice. The coin mech works great but I used a hair bobby pin to modify it to be used as free play. Works awesome. I also took a good amount of time to level the table. No Warps at all that I can tell. I checked the game counter inside the table when I got it, it has 3989 games registered. I thought that was pretty cool.

Table looks fantastic!...
However to the only negatives I have noticed..

1. 4 of the Men have cracks in them
2. On the surface of the play field, there is 1 tiny, and i mean tiny dimple (about the size of the tip of a pen) I am assuming someone dropped something on it at some point. Luckily it doesn't affect play, (feted that)
3. There is a couple of scratches on the outside of the cabinet.. (expected from bar use)
4. The score counters number have rubbed off and are the cheap feeling plastic ones. (I might switch em out)

**Also, can someone possibly figure out the year of the table with the Serial Number in the picture?**

Enjoy the pics!

Very nice. Regarding rigging the coin mechanism most tables usually ship with blanks. They are typically held down by a plate that is screwed into the back of the coin mechanism inside the table. They look like this. You can also purchase them on this site for a buck each. But if what you have is working I guess I wouldn't bother. Good find. Hope to sell my gray marble and upgrade to a T3000 someday.

Yea I took the coin mech apart to see how it worked. pretty interested. the coin mech I got only had plugs for 4 out of the 5 slots. So i used the bobby pin to hold the 5th slot down from inside the mech simulating a  $1 coin pushing down on it. Seems to work perfect. I was wondering, the rods could use some lube, are there any subsitutes any of you are using as opposed to ordering silicone rod lube? I dont want to put anything on it that will harm anything. (There arent any foosball retailers in my area at all)
