In a recent match, I took a shot from a 5-man stick, the ball deflected off several players before entering the goal. My opponent argued that the goal should not count because the ball made contact with multiple bars on my side before scoring.

I looked through several rule summaries but couldn't find a clear answer for this specific situation. Was this goal scored under standard tournament rules or did possession of the ball change before the shot was considered legal?

As long as the shot was legal when it was taken, deflections off any number of players or rods don't invalidate the goal. Unless an opponent gained controlled possession before it went in, I would count the goal.
