1995 had already exceeded 1994's re-cord setting paced in a few areas. Table sales are increasing, player turnout and involvement are at an all time high, and recalls seem to go on and on
With the new computer system on line and a few of the bugs worked out, players screaming "conflict" is a thing of the past! And as we have begun to strictly enforce match time limits, events are running more smoothly.
We are fully aware of the hardships experienced by players when events run late. Most airlines won't hold your plane until you finish your last match! Having four days to run events helps - as we saw in Atlanta - but late running events and waiting time between matches are issues we are tackling head on ! !
Here are some things we have already done:
We will continue to listen to your input as we grow. and we are striving to put on the best tournaments possible. Media coverage has increased, which brings me to you, the player, and the things you can do to improve our events, and foosball's image.
Present a professional image. What does that mean'? We have a dress code for pro players. It could be for everyone. A collared shirt, nice pants or shorts. Not really so tough, and it could clean up our image !
Remain in an area where you can hear your name being called for matches. A couple of options are to watch your next opponents match, or get some practice in. This can really decrease the time we
spend on recalls'
When your match is called proceed immediately to the table and begin play. When the match is completed. go sign your match card! Sound simple? It is. yet these are two of the main reasons our events run over time! Add up that 10 minutes or so before and after every match we call - multiply times the number of matches we call in a weekend - and the delay becomes staggering - and you can help!
Maybe it we work together. future events will run much more smoothly. And hey - take it easy. We are still learning to deal with our success. Tornado has grown steadily over the past 25 years - and with our explosion we're adapting as fast as we can .
The future of foos has never been brighter, with our National League system we are reaching previously untapped markets - giving casual players a more structured format - and some of these new faces will move on to the tour!
What they will find is up to both Tornado and you, the tour player. Lots of players ask what they can do to help (some don't even ask for money!). and there are lots of ways.
First and foremost, come out and compete, meet new people, have fun. Learn. improve your game, respect yourself and your opponents, and Have fun!
It's easy to knock something and offer no solution.
It's pretty easy to knock it and offer ridiculous solutions.
It isn't so easy to recognize a problem and implement workable solutions ! But hey, we're tryin'.
