Right on, it was a lot of fun playing you guys Saturday, I miss playing.  It'd be nice to get a place and night of the week to play and then spread the word, met a few good players here but then I usually don't run into them again.  The boys down in Fargo have a good deal going at the Turf on Thursdays, lots of good players and a real nice table.  We could make a trip down there sometime.
Thanks for posting.

right on.  what type of table would you recommend i get.  single goalie or three?  there are a lot of options out there, but i need to get it whittled down.  i, myself, prefer the single goalie, but am adaptable.

The main thing is to get a table that you enjoy playing on.  I have friends who much prefer the 1 man goalies as well and I think if manufacturers went back to that style many of the people who enjoyed it in the 70s would feel nostalgic and want to show their kids their trick shots and stuff, that'd be cool to get them playing again.

If you want to become a lot more competitive, then I'd suggest a Tornado, it's what the majority of bars have.  There's 2 cheaper versions of Tornadoes, but the Cyclone 2 is worth it for the better bearings and thicker walls.  They're expensive though, I found a used one on Craigslist in Eau Claire for $650, here's the link:

I also saw the cheaper versions, one was in SD for $400 (although I much prefer the Cyclone), they are heavy though so it'd be a pain to move it up and downstairs.  Also there are converter kits to take change it to 1 man goalies with ramps, never actually seen them in real life though.  I'd be happy to look at other cheaper tables around here with you, generally the heavier the better.  I enjoy playing on any table, and it's nice to play on a variety of them (too bad the Euro tables aren't carried in the US, you'd prolly really like them, although they went to telescopic rods and I'm not sure about that stuff), but if you play against people on a Tornado and aren't used to it, you'll be at a big disadvantage (but there are other tables in town for that if you want).  Maybe whichever vender has the tables in the bars around here has some used ones they could sell.  I'll also email one of the guys in Fargo to see if they know of any tables for sale.  Have a great day bud,

Hey Rhombus guy did you ever get a new table?  If you havnt got one yet definately go with a tornado or a warrior, warrior might be tough to find up here tho.  Any other bars downtown have tables worth playing on anymore.  Last time I was home joe blacks had crappy white plastic balls that rolled like eggs.

Hey guys...just found this forum.  If you want some competition on a tornado, come to the 'Bison Turf' which is right near the NDSU campus in Fargo, ND.  Lots of different ages/skill levels makes for a lot of fun games.  We have an unofficial "Fooze Night" every Thursday, and have started a small league which plays every other Saturday (Next league session is 3/21/09).  Email me if you have any questions...otherwise, just stop on by!

Looking to start getting a group to play on a week night here.  The Crosstown Lounge has the only Tornado that I know of that isn't broken and has red balls.  So I'm picking Thursday nights starting around 8.  Let me know if you prefer some other place or night.  Thanks and have a good one,

there are a few places that have decent tables right now.  bonzers has an ok table.  i think it is a dynamo.  the one at joe blacks is a solid tornado that, if repaired, is good.  crosstown has a new good tornado, but some of the balls are ***.  i would be down for playing thursdays at crosstown.  i still don't have a table, so i can't argue.  and i know some pretty quality players.  which thursday are you thinking about starting to play?  if you wanna get ahold of me more quickly go to rhombuspizza.com and send an e-mail via the contact link.

cool, the last time I was at Joe Black's though they had white balls, I could bring a few newer Tornado ones to wherever we play.  And that Dynamo table at Bonzer's is decent.  Just trying to get stuff going.  I'll be out tonight, bring any pals you got.  It'll be nice once you get a table at Rhombus.

Ok, looks like Wednesday nights are better.  Let's try meeting up between 8 and 9.  Invite friends and spread the word, once we get enough regulars we can set up a tourney sometime.

Met a few new players last week, they said Wednesday was good for them.  I'll be there around 9 again.  Let me know if you want to play on another night as well.

Hey Bones, I'm gone for most of the summer, but will be back the end of August.  We'd play either at the Crosstown lounge or Bonzar's (Sledster's table was broken forever), usually Wednesday nights but it was very inconsistant.  Stop in and talk to Aaron at Rhombus guys, he knows quite a few who like to play.
